Alpharetta

Looking for some fresh air? A visit to Alpharetta might be the answer. Alpharetta residents love to be outdoors, and with good reason — the city was recognized in 2017 as a finalist for the National Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management. Alpharetta is proud to stress the benefits of green living, and offers an abundance of parks and recreation areas for residents and visitors, all perfect for biking, picnicking, strolling and other leisure activities. Well-known parks around town include Wills Park, Webb Bridge Park, Rock Mill Park and others. In addition, a greenway along Big Creek offers even more opportunities to get out and enjoy nature.

But an abundance of greenspace is certainly not all Alpharetta has to offer. You’ll find quality schools, great shopping and dining options and affordable housing as well. Those craving a juicy steak should check out the Cabernet Steakhouse, which is both Zagat-rated and a Diners’ Choice winner from Open Table. To experience Sunday brunch with flavor, visit Flatlands Bourbon and Bayou, featuring live jazz each weekend. Whatever your foodie passion — bakeries, woodfired pizza, seafood and more — you’re sure to find here.

Events around Alpharetta run the gamut from Pup-Palooza for fur babies and their families to the Alpharetta Arts Streetfest, featuring more than 90 artists from around the country as well as great food, music and fun. Spring and summer are a veritable ongoing party in Alpharetta, bringing in folks from all over the Atlanta metro and beyond to experience the festival circuit.

Neighboring Johns Creek is situated between Alpharetta and Duluth, in the Northeast area of Atlanta, and is quickly establishing itself as the place to be in the Atlanta metro. With public schools consistently ranking among the state’s best and a population that has grown nearly 30% in the past decade, Johns Creek is definitely trending upward. In fact, in 2016, USA Today named Johns Creek one of the three best places to live in the entire nation, and the town was recently recognized as the second-safest place to live in the state, by SafeWise’s list of Georgia’s 50 Safest Cities of 2020.
